Shaping a stronger Oxfam for people living in poverty
Our vision is a just world without poverty. We want a world where people are valued and treated equally, enjoy their rights as full citizens, and can influence decisions affecting their lives.
Our purpose is to help create lasting solutions to the injustice of poverty. We are part of a global movement for change, empowering people to create a future that is secure, just, and free from poverty.
To ensure that the region has the capacity to effectively support the management of security risks in-country in order to enable Oxfam to meet its programme objectives. Reviewed Program and campaign approach within Oxfam has a strong influence component which in most cases could lead to increase the exposure to certain risks. Risks that vary depending on countries, and are often linked to a shrinking civil society spaces and due to the work with Human Rights defenders, hence our approach to security is not only related to managing security in in emergency context but requires deeper analysis in countries where we work to ensure our work and the partners one can cope and manage risks preventively, by adapting our security protocols, institutional practices, etc.
